As for me - I don't know if I really have a favourite manga so far.
There's manga I want to read.
But truly, I don't feel I've read enough manga to be able to say that I have a favourite manga. I'm just not that much of a manga-enthusiast to have read that much.
I must say though - I think Aria will always be something special for me. I'm on Volume 5 of the Masterpiece collection of Aria, and I'm happy to be reading this manga. From the outside looking in, it always looked beautiful to me. I remember the cozy vibe of the read-along Aria threads that would be hosted on 4chan /a/, along with music from the anime's OST, and I really liked that. I know this manga to be one of 4chan/a/'s sacred cows, and I'm thankful that they exposed me to it. I want to buy the art books Kozue Amano made for Aria, and keep them with me for the rest of my life. I somehow feel really happy that something like this exists.
I hope you have fun with manga, OP. It seems that as you prepare to enter the world of manga, I'm actually preparing to exit it. I was always a casual anyway, but yeah, I've come to realise how malnourished I am culturally at my age, and I wish to correct this by reading more western works and the works in the western csushi roll. The Aria manga, Made in Abyss manga, and Shin Sekai Yori Web Novel, I think these will be the final otaku-related works I consume before I transition to western material. I hope all goes well for both of us!
