 No.23002

I used to spend all day on it but at this point I want to try to use it only in pm hours. I have stuff to do that I enjoy off the computer recently and that makes it easier. Being depressed doesn't make it easier and the computers probably don't help the depression not even considering the drain on my hope for the world, for which I have plenty at this point - I don't know if an e-ink monitor could help that but I've been eyeing them for that reason.

Have you ever worked a meaningless job where the work you did didn't matter or where you just didn't have anything to do?
How did you spend your time, what did you do to make the hours pass?
Maybe some of you are looking at this post from such a workplace!

Somehow I have had 3 separate office jobs that all gave me essentially nothing to do including my current one. I have no idea how it keeps happening, it's not like I seek out this kind of job and if anything the interviews for 2 of them made them sound like I'd be pretty busy. Somehow they've all seemed pretty happy with me despite me doing nothing 90% of the time, and when I have actively asked for more to do I've mostly been shrugged off.
It's great on days when I can work from home but very boring when I'm in the office with nothing to do all day. It's also made job interviews frustrating as I have much less actual experience and knowledge than someone with my years of work should have so I need to lie and exaggerate a lot.

This sounds like the dream…

 No.22833

I work at a small business and due to the way we place orders for parts and materials (generally only when we're low on stock or get a large order), I sometimes end up very busy and other times can go several weeks just waiting around with nothing to do. But since it's a small shop and the owner is usually around, I feel like I have to look busy even when I'm just wasting time.

But my first job was filing paperwork after hours and since it was before I got a smartphone, I brought my old gameboy and hid in the small file room playing games. Sometimes I'd stay still for so long the motion-activated lights would turn off.

I got to try a pear cardamom artisan soda from France recently, I liked it quite a bit. A mild and complex taste, great for sipping on its own, with no need to mix it. It came in a 1l bottle with a rubber stopper, something I wish all artisan sodas would do.

ironic that im asking an imageboard how to get a bf, but its the only option i have left.

ive never been good at talking with boys, especially because im a NEET otaku and all the boys i think are cute arent even close to that.

im good at socializing in general (i think) but boys are always so judgy of me… i think im somewhat attractive but boys always say my nervousness is a turn off for them.

is there any way i can get closer to boys without being too shy?

I cant say anything about getting a BF. About GFs, Ive never had one either. To meet new people I found that putting myself out there is really important though, whether it be getting a new job, participating in clubs or rec leagues of anything. I also found its just important to do stuff. In that case youd have to feign confidence

Personally Ive never been interested in people who dont have anything going on in their lives. A great way to have something going on in your life is to stick to a hobby, or life theme generally, try for a year

This post reminded me, as a general heads up to anybody trying to get a BF, don't go overboard trying to get attention from an interest, and be attentive.
Had a girl doing smaller versions of this in school, dropping her eraser in class in my direction (I could see her "dropping" it) and asking to loan my calculator and stuff, trying to catch my attention for a long ass time being very transparent. Had to deal with it for months and she never got the hint that it was because I just wasn't interested. Not that she hadn't succeeded in getting my attention, she was getting it all along which was messing with my school work because half my focus was spent on her. But you can't just walk up to a girl and say hey stop it I'm not into you cause that'd just spark drama and shit, and you never know how vengeful a lady is.

Not to say that girls/dudes/whatever shouldn't go for it, dudes appreciate not being the one to make a move, just don't keep at it for months if you get no flirtation in return.
