Welcome to Sushichan!

Original Samachan.org migration discussion thread at >>>/yakuza/776

This board was made to handle some of the discussion topics that were common on Samachan but not so common on Sushichan. Japanese and Otaku culture as well as Anime-related discussions can go in this board, whether you were originally from Samachan or not. In addition, if you are from Samachan and you're not sure if your topic would fit in one of our other boards, you can post it here. If the moderators think it would be a better fit for another part of the site, it might get moved.

Sushichan Guidelines
* Read the rules! Also take a minute to look around.
* All conversations should be comfy and use polite language.
* Less comfy conversations (within reason) can be had in /hell/.
* Site meta discussion goes in /yakuza/.
* The /culture/ board is mostly for literature and artwork, despite the name.
* Cute stuff goes in /kawaii/, but it is an SFW board.
* The /arcade/ board has been expanded to include all kinds of games, including tabletop.
* Keep most Japan / Otaku / Anime related topics within this board.

Isekai Shachiku was legitimately the best isekai we've had in years. 10/10 love story as well.

I'm noticing a trend here, the quality of the isekai is inversely proportional to the amount of cheat skill that the protagonist has.

do you think it's always inversely proportionate or is it a function of the author's ability to write?

Yeah that's a better way of putting it. The donut steel fanfic style protagonists aren't coming out of the best writers.

It's a decently popular shounen. In typical shounen fashion there's not a ton to talk about past the first season because a lot of the themes and story beats are very similar, but it's fun enough to watch.

It's a show that's very frontloaded imo. The first season/arc is very good and while it maintains a high standard the quality of the story does trend slightly downwards as it goes on.

Kamachi writes the main novels and Fuyukawa has been writing the Railgun manga with Kamachi's input. Saten for example is a Fuyukawa character that Kamachi hasn't included in the mainline novels and she doesn't appear outside of cameos in artwork so far. It's uncertain whether characters will be making an appearance again in the future.

Been watching through Yondemasuyo Azazel-san. The shit and body fluid jokes are kind of gross, but in some ways it provides contrast for the qt3.14 Rinko, making her even more wonderful by comparison. Has there ever been a more perfectly designed anime girl?

Just finished the show at around 3am and damn it hit hard. I dont watch much anime nor am i used to this type of but i loved it from start to finish. It resonated a lot more since i've been feeling very lonely lately, but i guess life is worth it even without the pain.

Also i somehow forgot there was an anime board and posted this topic earlier today in /lounge/, sorry.

It's a very good anime, don't let it get you down too much though. I was depressed for a while after watching it a few years ago.

I just finished reading molester man and I have a gigantic urge to go out and meet people, I'd highly recommend you read it (it's a manga) I think it would be good for you

 No.8780

i dropped this just mostly out of disinterest, but i got to when everyone gets off the island, and i have been thinking about the anime a lot.. i wanna pick it up again or check out the manga. it definitely stuck with me despite my initial opinion

Yeah some guys on 4chin also mentioned the drug addict side of satou, i'd like to buy the manga but theres no official publishing in my country and i dont really like reading online

>>8777
The island part was really insane, for me it hit most when Misaki started to cry while pleading for Satou to not jump

>>8778
Yeah lately its been kinda hard but the show also gave me hope for better things in life, tho i was very sad when it ended.

I fokin hate NHK, sushi

It's nice that you like it, and its even nicer that it resonated with you, but still, I hope that someone here shares the feeling I do in regards to the anime

I think it goes into various different side stories quite often, that usually just feel forced, boring and stupid from start to end

The one that struck me as the most insufferable has to be the pyramid scheme arc. HOLY MOLY SEWAGIBIPOLAR GUAMACOLE, was the pyramid scheme arc awful

The island was OK, and so was the little obsession satou had with the mmorpg arc thingy, but asides from that, the show was just weak after the 6th or 7th episode

It just comes down to personal opinion of course. I would have loved it if satou's growth was shown in a different manner, instead of using stupid fokin arcs

Please, if someone feels like I do, let me know

I hate it too sushi roll. I quite like the LN but the anime is pure dogshit outside of maybe the first episode.
