Effective immediately: AI images are banned.

We have been getting a flood of low quality AI images on multiple boards that are excessively clogging several threads. We have been lenient in the past but it has gotten to be too much and nobody wants to see the recent posts flooded with AI. Sushichan is not the place for this, especially if you're going to only minimally interact with threads to post AI images.

Users can feel free to discuss this rule change in the replies to this thread but as of right now we are taking a hard stance against AI images on Sushichan.

Extremely based. AI images only degrade post quality so it's good to ban something that only serves to make things worse.

Do you have a neat web community or chat group you'd like to invite people to? Maybe want to drop your messaging handle and strike up some conversations? Do it here.

Chat/community/personal ads are no longer allowed on the rest of the site, except maybe on /hell/.

Important Note: This doesn't mean that you can't talk about communities or chat groups. You could, for example, have a thread where you ask people about web communities they visit. You just can't open your thread with an advertisement.

One post per service please! Duplicate ads may be deleted. This especially includes discord links. To make a permanent discord link, click on instant invite, go to advanced settings, and change the expire time to never. Dead links suck. If your discord link expires, your post will be deleted and you may receive a short warning ban.
New Rule(2/21/25): To avoid spam/bots and potentially illegal content, describe your community briefly, don't just drop the link.

I can't be the only one who likes to study and learn around here.
What do you study? What topics do you care about but don't get the time to do it? Are you self taught?
People who study just to pass a test are welcome, too, but that is not the theme of this thread.

I myself have been interested in ancient languages, and right now I am starting to learn ancient Greek, though as they say, it's all Greek to me.
I have other interests like astronomy, but really, I'm over my head with my current studies. I've also been learning some chemistry.

Holy shit it's been 7 months. I was in a SQL class and passed it. And, to my absolute surprise, that was the final class I needed to graduate with an Associates. I still haven't finished the network and security certifications, but I've studied fully for the latter and am going to see if I can prepare for the Network+ certification by the early part of next month. I haven't studied any kind of geography, but have actually read more political theory. Things are going slow, but they're going. Time is seriously screwed up for me. I can't believe it's been seven months now. I study the former because I really need the skills for life, but I also want to learn other stuff too because I know my high school education wasn't enough.

>I wish I could learn more languages.

I kind of want to learn Spanish because there are so many Spanish speaking people in my state that have limited English skills, but also a lot of people around me can speak Spanish, and it'd be cool to be able to have that skill.

I dont like to study real world things seriously anymore, atleast not anything pertaining to a craft of some kind
My ADHD retard brain always gets obsessed with going as far as possible with it, and I inevitably get depressed as hell when i cant reach my own impossible goals
And when I decide to not take it anywhere in the first place, I still eventually get sour grapes anyways
So I'll just keep the grapes I already have sushi

What was wrong with me then? It's been another 5-6 months, and I passed a certification. I also spent another month training for the Network+ certification and I'm going to try beating the test on the 3rd of February. I have pretty low hopes, though. The test itself was really cheap compared to the A+, which was 500 dollars. Only 178 this time. I should probably start setting up a lab to get better on the hands on stuff. Also, I never found that geography site I used, but I did in fact read more political theory. I find my grasp of South America is pretty bad as well as Europe. I still have much to learn. I think I want to read a book a month.

Ants are such amazing little explorers. They find one cool thing and then set up a trail for their friends and pretty soon there's a line of them marching through the tiniest crack around a window to get to it.

The Orion spacecraft successfully fired its main engine for 5 minutes and 50 seconds on Thursday, sending four astronauts on a free-return trajectory around the Moon. For NASA and the Artemis II crew members, this marked a point of no return for more than a week.

About three-quarters of the American population has not witnessed humans leaving low-Earth orbit in their lifetimes. The last time this occurred was 1972, with the final Apollo Moon mission.

The “translunar injection” burn of Orion’s main engine occurred about one day after the successful launch of the mission on NASA’s Space Launch System rocket from Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday. This burn was the last major firing of Orion’s main engine and sets the crew on a course to fly around the Moon on Monday, slingshot back toward Earth under lunar gravity, and splash down in the Pacific Ocean on Friday, April 10.

“Things are going really well right now,” said Lori Glaze, NASA’s senior official over exploration, during a news conference on Thursday evening. “I don’t think we could be more pleased.”

First day is filled with activity
The decision to leave Earth orbit followed a busy day onboard Orion during which the four-person crew—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—pushed the spacecraft’s life support and propulsion systems to ensure the vehicle was ready for a prolonged mission in deep space.

Orion’s life support functioned very well, said Howard Hu, NASA’s program manager for the Orion spacecraft. This included critical systems, such as the carbon dioxide “scrubbers” that remove the exhaled gas from the cabin’s atmosphere, as well as water systems. There was a minor kerfuffle with Orion’s toilet during the initial checkout when it was supposed to be “wetted” with water to prime the pump. Not enough water was introduced, so the pump was non-responsive. Once more water was added, it began functioning fine.

The most significant tests involved Orion’s propulsion system, during which Pilot Victor Glover flew the vehicle through a variety of maneuvers primarily using Orion’s 24 reaction control thrusters. During this “proximity ops demonstration” Glover flew to within a few dozen feet of the rocket’s upper stage, and then went through a prescribed series of tests, such as side-to-side maneuvers, up and down, pitch, roll, yaw, and more. Glover offered frequent narration during these maneuvers and, generally, said the vePost too long. Click here to view the full text.

My friend bartends for us every week he comes over and has us try all these cocktail recipes he has been learning. He's really good at so I'm surprised he never took bartending as a career. He said he wouldn't want a career because it would make the hobby a business. He's just doing it for the love of the game. Last night he gave me a Chicago.

Big agree. Unless you're running your car on a track, being able to use ALL of your car on regular roads FEELS better than having to constantly rein it in. At least from a none American (UK) perspective. Big straight road, I imagine the bigger engine feels better there.

Didn't see any movie thread around so I'll make this one the one. Have you watched anything interesting sushi?
I just finished watching Underworld, I actually started it many months ago but due to watching it on TV with half an hour long announcements decided to drop it, only to pic it back up now. I'm surprised that this movie is as complex as it is since I thought it would be just a cheap action flick, there are a lot of moments that felt very satisfactory only due to implications from characters and their previous actions. The actress was also very pretty and the action sequences were decent, but I doubt the sequels are as good as the original despite having an obvious cliffhanger ending and leaving a lot of stuff in the air (what happens to the lycan covenant and Michael? Does Selene actually get to be with the vampires again or does this relationship exile her from it).
In the end, I liked this a lot. Post whatever movies you have watched.
